I am an assistant professor of business administration at Harvard Business School, where I teach the Financial Reporting and Control course in the MBA required curriculum.
My primary research interests relate to companies’ climate change disclosures. My research examines the credibility and accountability of corporate emissions reduction targets, institutional frameworks that facilitate climate disclosures, and information signals that drive companies to invest in climate solutions. More broadly, I also study corporate information transmission in sustainability topics related to employee safety and gender diversity.
My recent learning is that companies can be a positive force for climate change: corporate emissions-reduction targets can signal demand that encourage suppliers to invest in climate solutions. Over time, we see more companies develop and deploy climate solutions. Together, the lower costs and wider availability of climate solutions may make targets more credible and achievable.
